Being in Test side helped me: Yuvraj

From a rash and erratic player to a responsible stalwart, it has been a rollercoaster ride for Yuvraj Singh who attributes this transition to his elevation to the Test ranks.
Yuvraj says success at the Test level has given him the desired confidence to do well in both forms of the game and he was now looking forward to perform consistently in the longer version of the game.
"Being in the Test side has helped me most. A lot of players play one-day cricket. But actual cricket is Test cricket. When you go out and perform in Test cricket, you feel confident that you belong at this level," the 24-year-old batsman said.
"In turn, that gives you a lot of confidence when you are playing a one-day game. You have reached a difficult level. Now that I have achieved success in Test cricket, I can get better in one-day cricket," he said in an interview published in the latest edition of Cricinfo magazine.
Yuvraj said when he was a "young kid", Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman had already played a lot of Test matches and the thought that he had replaced them in the Test squad, had proved to be a big morale booster.
"It has been a rollercoaster ride for me. It's not that I just came in and replaced Sourav or Laxman. I know that when I perform at my best there is 90 per cent chance that I will win the game for India."
