The body of an Indian, who died due to heart failure in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) while visiting his relatives there, was on Friday handed over to Indian authorities at Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point on Line of Control in Poonch district, officials said.
Nazir Hussain of Panjgrain village of Rajouri district, who had gone to POK in a weekly bus service on December 21, 2009, had died due to heart failure at his relative's house at Kotli in POK yesterday, they said.
The body was brought to Chakan-Da-Bagh and handed over by the Additional Commissioner (Revenue) of Hajira (POK), Arshad Mirza, to Additional District Commissioner of Poonch Matloob Khan around 1pm today, sources said.
The body was later handed over to legal heirs in Rajouri for performing last rites, the sources added.
