Others mull over action against rebel MLAs
AFTER CROSS voting by the MLAs, in the Rajya Sabha and Vidhan Parishad election, the leaders of the BJP, the SP and the Congress are contemplating action against the rebel MLAs.
However, buoyed by the success in the recently held RS and VP polls, the Bahujan Samaj Party plans to launch a campaign for the Vidhan Sabha election.
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati will launch the election campaign at a party workers’ state-level conference to be held at Ambedkar Maidan tomorrow.
The booth committee members, sector in-charges and election co-ordinators will participate in the meeting.
Mayawati, who is expected to direct the party workers to start the preparation for the assembly election, will discuss the election strategy to defeat the rivals. The booth committee members have been directed to come prepared with the blue print of the poll.
The Bahujan Samaj Party has already prepared a list of probable candidates for the election. The ticket will be finalised after getting feedback on the candidates’ ability to win the election from the grass-root workers and election coordinators. The party will field the winnable candidates or those who could give tough fight to the rivals.
The party leaders said 31 rebel MLAs of the rival political parties already set the stage for the assembly election by defying the whip of their parties. All these MLAs wish to contest the assembly election on the Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
The desertion by the MLAs in favour of the Bahujan Samaj Party clearly indicates that wind is in favour of the BSP.
Bahujan Samaj Party national spokesperson Sudhir Goyal said the money and muscle power was defeated by the Bahujan Samaj Party in the Rajya Sabha and the Vidhan Parishad elections. The rival MLAs supported the Bahujan Samaj Party. Even SP MLAs voted in favour of the Bahujan Samaj Party candidate.
