The message was flashed to SHOs and increased police presence could be seen at markets, malls and other sensitive places. “Apart from district police, who have been asked to increase vigil at markets, we have alerted the railway police too, asking them to increase checking at various railway stations. Dog squad and local police conducted routine drills at bus terminus too and barricading has been done across the city,” a senior police officer requesting anonymity said.

The special cell has been asked to tighten its intelligence network. Police said extra security personnel have been deployed at sensitive places including, metro stations, railway stations, airport and markets.

However, there is no specific alert; the Delhi Police is in constant touch with Intelligence Bureau for any input. Specialised units like Quick Reaction Teams, SWAT and Vajra have been deployed.
