The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday registered eight fresh cases in its Vyapam-scam probe to probe alleged irregularities in the conduct of examinations including those related to pre-medical tests and recruitment of constables.
The first case pertained to allegations of impersonation by certain persons in the 2011 pre-medical test conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), to facilitate five students who joined a Rewa-based medical college. The second case dealt with pre-medical test (PMT) conducted by the MPPEB to facilitate 10 who joined a Rewa-based medical college.
The third case was registered against two persons on the basis of a prior police case against them for alleged cheating by impersonation in a 2013 examination held for recruitment of police constables.
The fourth case was registered against 6 persons, including the five who had subsequently secured admission in a Bhopal-based medical college, while the fifth case was against two persons for cheating by impersonation in the 2009 PMT.
The sixth case was against a person in the 2009 pre-medical test, while the seventh case and eighth case was filed against three in a recruitment examination for police constables in 2012. The state police had earlier probed the eight cases registered by the CBI.
