CBI seeks more time in J&K sex racket case

The bench also directed that all previous directions passed from time to time should be deemed part of the latest order.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the sex-racket case in Srinagar on Monday sought more time from Jammu and Kashmir High Court for completing the recording of statements of the persons arrested in the case.

DIG CBI, who is present in the court, seeks some more time to complete the statements (of the arrested persons) and to take other steps in furtherance of the investigation as already directed, a division bench, comprising Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain and BA Kirmani, said and fixed July 6 as the next date of hearing.

The bench also directed that all previous directions passed from time to time should be deemed part of the latest order.

Director Social Welfare Department furnished his report and the court ordered him and incharge of the psychiatry hospital to be present personally on the next date of hearing.

On the application moved by a relative of arrested IAS officer Iqbal Khanday seeking legal assistance, the court said the application is disposed off with an observation that petitioner may project this grievance before the trial court who is already siezed of the matter.
