As a follow up to the recent incident in which an inmate was murdered in Chennai Puzhal prison,authorities carried out raids to flush out hidden weapons and other equipment on the premises, jail sources said.

The authorities recovered five cell phones, six sim cards and eight chargers, which were buried near the hospital.

However,senior jail officials were tightlipped on the seizure.Inquiry was going on to ascertain how these accessories found its way to the jail,the sources said.
