In a letter addressed to both the VVIPs, Singh has demanded immediate construction of Sewage Treatment Plant at Salori to stop flow of polluted water into the Ganga.
He cautioned the Union Government as well the State government to take immediate steps otherwise the Mela could be boycotted by the sadhus in absence of clean water in both Ganga and Yamuna.
Besides, he appealed for the release of at least 500 cusecs of water from Narora dam in order to provide sufficient water at Sangam during Ardha Kumbh Mela in 2007.
