The Home Ministry wanted extension of time till tomorrow to reply to EC's notice as Chidambaram was on tour, Deputy Election Commissioner J P Prakash told reporters.

The notice was issued following a complaint filed by BJP which alleged that Chidambaram, during his visit to the desert state in the last week of March, had taken up electoral issues.
