A resident of Civil Lines, Arpita completed her bachelors degree in science from AU in 1999 and went on to do her MA (English) from the Kanpur University and PGDBM from Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Sciences in 2001.

"I give full credits of my success to my parents who encouraged me to enter into the field of teaching rather than following the general trend of joining a corporate house. However, I got the requisite knowledge of systematic teaching and focused approach in grooming the students at ICFAI (Shriram Complex) especially from the institute's branch manager at Allahabad Yash Sharma whose constant support and guidance helped me in joining at IIM-Ahmedabad about two weeks back," said Arpita to HT Allahabad Live in a telephonic interview from IIM Ahmedabad.

Arpita informed that she worked as Lecturer at Ewing Christian College besides some other institutions too to polish her teaching skills. "I believe the right guidance and hardwork besides self-confidence is all that is needed to attain success in any field," added Arpita who also holds a PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communications from IGNOU besides a certificate of specialisation in Finance Management from the Small-Scale Industries Development Organisation.
