A court on Thursday remanded five men, who allegedly killed a 29-year-old Manipuri BPO employee in south Delhi, to judicial custody.

Akha Salouni, who was returning from a friend's house in Kotla Mubarakpur area, was allegedly beaten to death early on Monday by the five during a brawl.

Having apprehended the fifth accused Lokesh on Wednesday, the police said they no longer needed police custody of the group.

Therefore, metropolitan magistrate Ashok Kumar sent Azad Choudhary alias Bhola, 24, Sanjay Basoya, 24, Shakti Basoya, 21, Rajiv, 25 and Lokesh to judicial custody till August 7.

Meanwhile, Rajiv's counsel Lavkesh Chaudhary requested the court to preserve the CCTV footage which purportedly shows the five men raining blows on Salouni's head and using a cloth to swing his body through the air.

The footage is material piece of evidence, Lavkesh said.

The court directed the police to take requisite step in this regard.
