Don't hold political event without permission in Jammu: DM

Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered that no cultural, political event should be held here in the city without permission of the district administration.

Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered that no cultural, political event should be held here in the city without permission of the district administration.

As per an order issued by Jammu district magistrate Sanjeev Verma, no event involving sizeable gathering, whether cultural or political, shall take place in an open space or in confined locations including auditorium, halls without prior permission of the district administration.

This decision has been taken to avoid any untoward incident, violence, ruckus, traffic congestion, security implication and law and order problem.

In future, all such events and gathering are deemed to be illegal, which take place without prior permission, it said adding that the police shall initiate action under law.
