Election observers discussed with district officials on Thursday morning the complaints of opposition parties about alleged anomalies in the voters' list.

Election observers were fanned out to different districts of poll-bound West Bengal to supervise the revision of electoral rolls.

KJ Rao, who won accolades for conducting a free and fair poll in Bihar and has been deputed to West Midnapore district this time, examined complaints received by EC observer Anil Garg who had visited the area earlier.

A 20-point charter of demands had been submitted to Garg by opposition parties pertaining to allegations of stockpiling of arms in CPI(M) offices and inclusion of names of dead and bogus voters.

The observers will be here till February 8.

A report from Nadia district said EC observer Amitava Rajen, accompanied by district officials, has gone to Karimpur Block one to verify the complaints he had received.
