The incident took place on Sunday evening about 12 nautical miles off the Mandvi coast where a cargo vessel 'Shafinapul', carrying 300 tonnes of dates from Dubai, had capsized, they said.

According to police, all eight crew members of the 'Shafinapul' were thrown into water after their ship was hit by a larger vessel.

However, the crew members were rescued by another boat which was in the same vicinity, and brought them to Mandvi, they added.

All the crew members belong to Mandvi and were coming from Dubai with a consignment of dates to Gujarat.
