Eight persons still battling for life in hospital

THE BLASTS might have given politicians a chance to raise fingers on their opponents but it is still a nightmare for those eight persons, who are battling for their lives at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sir Sunderlal Hospital in Banaras Hindu University.

THE BLASTS might have given politicians a chance to raise fingers on their opponents but it is still a nightmare for those eight persons, who are battling for their lives at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sir Sunderlal Hospital in Banaras Hindu University.

Those admitted in ICU have been identified as Manish Pandey (25), a resident of Chapra-Bihar, Satya Narain (55), R/O Sivan-Bihar, Ram Subhavan (30) and Sudra (35), both R/O Faizabad, Mohit Verma (10), R/O Buxar-Bihar, Ashish Kumar, Kalavati (45) and Virendra Kumar (22), all residents of Varanasi.

Out of these eight patients, two are under complete coma whereas two in semi-conscious condition. Doctors said four patients were on recovery stage whereas the condition of other four was still serious. The story of trauma does not end here, as there are several others who either lost their legs or eyes in the blast.

There are 25 patients admitted to the SS Hospital of BHU. Two-year-old Dhananjay and his 8-year-old sister Sapna are admitted at the Paediatric Ward.
