Eway firm, Rapid Metro indulge in blame game

A DGSCL official said the traffic jam on the expressway was created due to closing of the left turn to DLF Cyber City.
However, the Rapid Metro officials dismissed the claim, saying it was DGSCL which was responsible for the mess.
“Traffic was diverted to a newly-constructed slip road located slightly ahead of the original turn. The width of the slip road is only half of the original turn and is not sufficient to take the volume of the traffic due to which traffic flow was severely affected leading to congestion on the service roads on the Delhi to Jaipur side which spilled over to the KM 24 toll plaza and beyond on Tuesday morning,” said a DGSCL spokesperson.
The spokesperson also said construction work, carried out by the Rapid Metro near the service road of the expressway, triggered waterlogging which further worsened the situation.
The Rapid Metro official passed the buck on DGSCL. “Rapid Metro has maintained the same number of lanes at Gateway Tower. The vehicles coming from Delhi has to take a left turn as it used to be. There is no major change in the traffic diversion. We strongly object to the claims made by the DGSCL,” said the spokesperson of Rapid Metro.
The spokesperson also said the DGSCL was deliberately trying to hide its failure by diverting the attention of the public.
