Five Bangladeshis arrested near int'l border

Bangladeshis were trying to crossover to Pakistan when they were arrested by security forces of Jammu division.

Five Bangladeshis who were trying to crossover to Pakistan have been apprehended by security forces in RS Pura sector of Jammu division, officials said on Wednesday.

Troops of Rajput Regiment noticed movement of two men moving in suspicious circumstances towards International Border from Agrechak area in RS Pura sector on Tuesday, they said adding both of them were taken into custody.

Another group of three persons was also apprehended when they were found moving towards the border from same area later, the officials said.

Preliminary interrogation revealed that they belonged to Bangladesh and have been identified as Liyaqat Ali, Asgar Ali, Fazal Mohammad, Abdul and Munnawar.

They had also revealed that one person had taken Rs 3000 each from a group of 15 members belonging to Bangladesh and brought them here to provide job as labourers.

Security forces have launched a search for the remaining 10 persons of the group.
