"Four Salwa Judum cadres were killed and seven were injured in a rebel attack at Patapara village near Bhairamgarh," Rahul Sharma, Dantewada district superintendent of police, told IANS by phone.

Police teams have rushed to the attack site, which is about 450 kms south of Raipur.

Maoists hold sway in Chhattisgarh's mineral rich southern Bastar region where the rebels have been running a parallel government in the interior areas for at least 25 years.
