One Fransisco Fernandes was arrested with 44 ecstasy tablets, just few metres away from the festival venue on December 29 evening, senior Goa police officials said.

Though his arrest was initially passed off as a normal case of drug peddling, police are now probing whether Fernandes was selling drugs to the party goers, who atteded Sunburn Music Festival at Candolim beach, they said.

"We suspect him because he was found next to the venue. The role of a large gang operation from near the venue is not ruled out but we are beginning our probe from this guy," a senior police officer said.

Police’s suspicion on Fernandes is based on the fact that Meha had consumed 'Angel Dust', a powdered form of Ecstasy tablets when she began getting distressed.
