Gold worth Rs 25 lakh hidden in man's rectum recovered

Eight hundred grams of gold, worth Rs 25 lakh, concealed in the rectum of a male passenger who arrived here from Dubai, was recovered on Wednesday by Customs officials at the International Airport in Kozhikode.

Eight hundred grams of gold, worth Rs 25 lakh, concealed in the rectum of a male passenger who arrived here from Dubai, was recovered on Wednesday by Customs officials at the International Airport in Kozhikode.

The man, identified as Asharf from Malappuram, arrived Kozhikode from Dubai by an Air India flight and was taken into custody after a metal detector check revealed the gold hidden inside his rectum, Airport Customs Intellgience officials said.

The Airport duty doctor was called and the gold was later recovered, they said.
