Indian cricket team arrives in Dhaka

The 15-member Indian cricket team arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday amidst tight security for a tour which had come under a cloud because of a death threat by a militant group.

The team was received by top officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board and was immediately taken to it's hotel.
The Government had on Tuesday given a partial go-ahead to the tour for the first Test match beginning in Dhaka on Friday.
The five-member security delegation will today visit Chittagong, the other venue, to make an assessment of the threat perception there before clearing that segment.
The players had assembled in Kolkata on Tuesday night after the government gave a partial clearance for the tour, giving a go-ahead only for the first Test at Dhaka beginning on Friday.
However, the government's security delegation, now touring the neighbouring country to assess the security arrangement there, was yet to give the green signal for the second Test at Chittagong.
Team manager Sudhakar Rao, who is part of the security delegation, would join the Indian side in Dhaka.
As per the revised schedule, the first Test would be played from December 10 instead of December 9 as scheduled earlier. The team will play two Tests and three One-Day Internationals.
