The burly cricketer, who was expected to lead Pakistan's challenge to overhaul India's mammoth total was once again run out in the second one-dayer on Tuesday and it also got him an entry in the record books equalling former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram's statistic for the most number of run outs.

The skipper was beginning to find his feet when Abdul Razzaq played Sachin Tendulkar to fine leg. But the all-rounder responded reluctantly to Inzamam's call to steal a run. Inzamam had charged down in full steam and was unable to beat Harbhajan Singh's throw to the non-striker's end.

It was Inzamam's 38th dismissal in this fashion in his illustrious career now spanning 338 matches which saw him go level with Akram who was run out 38 times in 356 matches.
