Mohammad Afroz was arrested on Thursday from Rampur town, around 300 km from Lucknow.

STF superintendent of police Rajesh Pandey said, "The man was identified as Mohammad Afroz, who on questioning confessed his links with the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence."

"Afroz, 31, was engaged in procuring sensitive military details that were passed on to his Pakistani contacts through e-mail and telephone," he added.

His interrogation revealed that he had visited Pakistan at least four times and had established good contacts there.

"STF is still probing his contacts in the Indian Army and does not rule out the possibility of moles who were passing on military secrets for a price," said Pandey.
