Israel Ambassador David Danieli said in a meeting with Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday that Israel, a leader in farming technology, is willing to help Orissa in the field of agriculture.

Orissa boasts of 10 agro-climatic zones that provide ample scope for undertaking research in agriculture, horticulture and floriculture.

Israel has already invested in Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh in the same field and now wants Orissa to become a partner in similar initiatives, Danieli told Patnaik.

Israel would depute its agricultural experts to the state soon to study the possibilities and areas of cooperation, Danieli said. Orissa has also got a proposal from Danieli for exchange of technical know-how on farming between Israel and Orissa, he added.
