Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire along the International Border (IB) in the Sabma district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Katra in the state.

Pakistani troops fired 4-5 rounds on a forward post in Samba sector early on Tuesday morning, a senior BSF officer said.

BSF troops positioned at the border retaliated, he said, adding there was no loss of life or injury to anyone.

Indian troops tracked suspicious movement near a forward area in Samba sector and resorted to firing, forcing a person to flee, he said.

Prime Minister modi arrived at the Mata Vaishno Devi University complex where he inaugurated a super speciality hospital, a sports stadium and took part in the convocation ceremony following which he addresed a public meeting on Tuesday.
