A policeman was injured in a militant attack in Shopian district of south Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

According to a police spokesperson based in Srinagar, the security man was injured while he was on official duty outside a bank in Shopian's Pachdoora area.

The incident is the latest addition to a string of militant attacks across the Kashmir earlier this week.

Unidentified men on Tuesday took away the service rifle of a policeman in South Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Three army personnel and a militant were killed on the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of Kashmir on Monday. The incident came just hours after a staff member of government-run telecom operator BSNL was killed and two more were injured when militants opened fire at the company's office in north Kashmir's Sopore district, about 50km from Srinagar.

In another encounter on Monday, a militant and a soldier were killed in Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
