Jail-sending Maya can't liken self with Mother Teresa: Maneka

Stung by UP Chief Minister Mayawati's advice on "responsible motherhood" in Varun Gandhi episode, BJP leader Maneka Gandhi on Saturday said it was improper on the part of the BSP leader to liken herself with Mother Teresa, as the Nobel laureate had not sent any one to jail. Maneka said, "it was the meanness of Mayawati that she compared herself with Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa has not taken lives but has given life to many destitutes. The saint has not sent any one to jail."

Reacting to BSP chief's snub, Maneka told reporters after meeting her son at Etah jail, "it was the meanness of Mayawati that she compared herself with Mother Teresa. Mother Teresa has not taken lives but has given life to many destitutes. The saint has not sent any one to jail."

Maneka said it was not good on the part of Mayawati to say something about her educated, cultured and civilised family.

"Mayawati is nothing and she has no background. She has only divided people in the name of caste. Her attitude was revengeful," Maneka said.

The BJP leader alleged that Mayawati was creating terror by slapping NSA against her son Varun. Her politics is based on caste. "She wanted to crush Varun by slapping NSA against him. But he will not go back on his progressive views".
