In a new twist to the Jalaun case, Jitendra, the father of sisters Akansha and Arishka whose bodies were found in gunny bags in early September, has confessed to killing the girls to save his honour. His accomplices in the heinous act were his son-in-law Sonu and driver.
The girls had eloped with their lovers from their home in Damaa village of Jalaun district on August 30. After 10 days GRP personnel found them with the boys and informed Jitendra who took them from the railway station, killed them on the way and dumped their bodies in Noon River.
"Jitendra has accepted that he killed the girls and his son-in-law Sonu and driver helped him in the murders," Ashutosh Pandey, IG Kanpur Zone, said. The vehicle used in the crime has been recovered and the trio arrested.
Curiously, the bodies of Akansha and Arishka were earlier verified to be that of two other sisters, aged 14 and 17, who had eloped from Orai in Jalaun and were recovered only on Thursday with their lovers.

{{/usCountry}}Meanwhile, the two sisters who were recovered on Wednesday by the police along with their lovers, have refused to go with their parents. On Thursday they admitted before a magistrate that they married of their own choice and wanted to live with their 'husbands'.
Both girls have been sent to Nari Niketan, Jhansi and the accused Gaurav Chaturvedi and Atul Gupta have been jailed on charges of rape and kidnapping.
