As part of his ambitious plan to build a lifestyle, fashion designer JJ Valaya has ventured into footwear with up market shoe label Skin Sin for a range of women's footwear.

The line of 30 styles ranging from strappy slip-ons to pencil heels would carry the Valaya label and would be available in Valaya and Skin Sin outlets in India, Dubai and Europe.
"Footwear is the natural progression for brand extension and build a complete range of products," JJ Valaya said about the collection which has been priced between Rs.2,500-7,000.
Valaya has been one of the most enthusiastic proponents of brand extension among Indian designers. He was the first designer to venture into home furnishings with his line Valaya Home in the late 1990s.
The Valaya Home range includes soft furnishings (decorative pillows, cushions and coordinates) and signature tapestries.
"There is a synergy of thoughts as Skin Sin understands the sensibilities of design and offers the latest in international standards, that's why we decided to launch a joint label," said Valaya.
"A lot of time and effort is spent by Indian women to find the right footwear to go with her wardrobe. She has to either source it from abroad or make do with what's available, and often enough that's not the latest.
"Our new venture will offer the latest in design and technique with cutting edge finish."
Valaya has licensed Skin Sin for the production, distribution and marketing of his show line.
Said Arvind Bajaj, who runs Skin Sin and is one of India's first footwear designers: "Every Valaya creation is a fusion of contemporary and classics. JJ's passion for color, fabric and surface ornamentation is reflected in every piece."
