JSM accuses CM, Mufti of raking up trouble in the state

Taking strong exception to the frequent statements made by chief minister Omar Abdullah, which directly or directly dispute the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India, Jammu State Morcha (JSM) president Virender Gupta has said such rhetoric by Omar should not be of a person who is under the constitutional oath of protecting the integrity and sovereignty of the country.

He charged the CM for being not entitled to dictate the government of India on foreign policy matters and on defence issues.

"It is strange that he does not utter a single word against Pakistan when its forces violate the LoC and International Border and inflict casualties on this side of the border. But when Indian forces retaliate, he talks of restoring peace on the borders," said Virender Gupta.

Gupta while talking to Hindustan Times also took a dig at Mufti Mohammed Sayeed's proclamation that all the solutions of J&K problems lay in his basket.

"His proclaimed road map to solve the Kashmir issue acceptable to state, people of India and those of Pakistan is nothing but it is his "self-rule" document, which is almost a copy of Parvez Musharraf's formula who after Pakistan's unsuccessful attempts to annex Kashmir had devised to get control of Jammu and Kashmir through political channels," said Gupta.

"He opposed the creation of new districts, opposed delimitation of assembly constituencies and did nothing to provide justice to the people of the Jammu region in the matter of development, allocation of funds, employment to youth and in removing the disparities existing between Jammu and Kashmir regions. His and his party role during the Amarnath land row is well known to the people where he severely hurt the sentiments of the people of Jammu region," Gupta claimed.

The JSM chief cautioned the people of Jammu region against falling in the trap of Kashmiri leaders, who, he said, have always inflicted injustice and injuries to their sentiments and teach them a befitting lesson during the coming elections.
