Filmmaker Karan Johar is busy sporting the producer’s hat these days. Looking dapper in a black suit, Johar, who was in the Capital on Wednesday, talked at length about his his upcoming production, I Hate Luv Storys.

“It is a nice, youthful movie with a fresh cast of Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan and a first time director, Punit Malhotra. The chemistry between the lead pair is terrific, and is also the USP of the movie. The audience is hungry for love stories,” he said.

Talking about his other much-talked about projects — Dostana 2 and the adaptation of Hollywood film Stepmom — Karan said, “Dostana 2 stars John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif and will go on the floors in July. Stepmom’s (yet untitled) adaptation stars Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal and is in its postproduction stage. It should be out by end of this year.”

He may be busy playing producer, but Johar admits he’s itching to get back into the director’s chair. “I’ll hopefully be directing soon. There is so much happening at Dharma (his production house) and I’m busy being a producer for a while.” As for the third season of his hit television show Koffee With Karan, which he hosts, Johar said, “Things are getting finalised and it should go on the floors by year end.”
