Kashmir: BSF trooper arrested for killing wife after scuffle

Police said Ghulam Hassan Chowhan, a trooper of the 193 Battalion posted in Rajasthan and presently on leave, shot and killed his wife with a rifle following a scuffle between the two.

Police on Monday arrested a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper for allegedly shooting and killing his wife in north Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Police said Ghulam Hassan Chowhan, a trooper of the 193 Battalion posted in Rajasthan and presently on leave, shot and killed his wife with a rifle following a scuffle between the two.

“The trooper has been arrested and a case of murder registered in Kangan police station of Ganderbal district”, a senior police officer said.
