Chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Monday slammed senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Viplove Thakur for her demand to fix accountability on ministers and chairmen for party's debacle in recently-concluded Lok Sabha polls. “It appears she is paramount of all knowledge. She (Viplove) is the most popular leader and she made all her opponents forfeit their deposits,” this is how chief minister Virbhadra Singh sarcastically replied to a question about Viplove Thakur's demand for fixing accountability on ministers and chairmen for the debacle in the Lok Sabha elections.

“Persons sitting in the air-conditioned rooms are usually not aware of the wounds of soldiers battling in the field,” said he.

“Though Viplove is my friend, I have no enmity with anyone in politics, there are only rivals no enemies,” said he.

Virbhadra Singh described Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee's move to dissolve the 34 bodies as the decision taken in a “haste.” “I was not aware of the move until I received a piece of information from the PCC office.

“I personally feel that instead of the dissolving the block units, holistic view should have been taken. I am not saying whether what Sukhu did was right or wrong, in my personal opinion one should have taken remedial measures instead of dissolving the units,” said he.

He said that it was a coincident that in 1962, Mrs Indira Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri picked me up from Mahasu constituency on the advice of the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. “I was elected to Lok Sabha and since, there was no looking back for me,” said he, adding that I have fully devoted my life for the service of the people of state and will keep doing so in future too.
