School is the institution where we learn about individual, social and national responsibilities. The education it provides inculcates social responsibility about becoming responsible in our actions which has a direct impact on our society.

Moving beyond just teaching the fundamentals of academics, DAV Public School has undertaken various initiatives to make us aware of our responsibilities towards the society we live in. My school has taught me how to give back to society by lending a helping hand to anyone who is in need of it, raising our voice against wrong practices and supporting eco-friendly practices.

The school provides underprivileged students with free education during afternoon hours. We, the volunteers of Community Service Program try to assist and teach these children with the aim of imparting learning and education to economically backward sections.

Workshops and marches are held to sensitize students about the social evils plaguing our society like saving the girl child, women empowerment and gender sensitization.

An innovative idea of 'special wing for the differently abled children' has been initiated by our Principal. Various types of competitions and constructive activities are organized to provide them with a feeling of equality.

Not only these initiatives but also introduction of subjects like moral education, videos and discussion has helped us to learn the essence of social responsibility.

As an individual, I have tried my level best to contribute towards society and this is mainly due to values that the process of schooling has instilled in me.
