With chief minister Arvind Kejriwal complaining about functioning of Delhi police, Union home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Saturday said though Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has announced an inquiry, he was also looking into the issue.
"Delhi Lieutenant Governor has already announced an inquiry into the matter raised by Aam Aadmi party leaders against Delhi police," he told reporters.
"Delhi has a distinct character where Lt Governor and chief minister looks into the things," he said.
But, still since Kejriwal met him, he said "I am looking into the issue."
The Union home minister refused to reply to allegations of corruption and shielding a businessman having links with Dawood Ibrahim levelled against him by former home secretary RK Singh, who recently joined BJP.
"Wo ab BJP ke neta hain, mein political bhasan nahin karna chahta hu (Now he is a BJP leader hence I do not want to make a political comment)," he said.
Shinde said a note has already been issued by Delhi commissioner of Police and he has nothing to say.
To a question on Adarsh housing society, Shinde shot back, "What Adarsh?". He said there was no reservation for Kargil war heros in that society.
