The decision to set up a women IRB battalion was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in Imphal on Thursday, the sources said.
A senior minister who attended the meeting told PTI on condition of anonymity that the cabinet also approved the recruitment of 1007 women constables for the battalion.
