"I have directed all district Superintendents of Police to take extra precaution in the wake of the blasts," state Director General of Police William Richmond Marbaniang said.

Meanwhile, the Shillong Muslim Union had condemned the Malegoan blasts, which claimed 38 lives and injured about 190.

"Such a terror needs worldwide condemnation," SMU member and Meghalaya Congress Legislator Sayeedulah Nongrum said adding that the government should arrest the perpetrators at the earliest.
