Unidentified militants lobbed a powerful bomb at a private hospital in Imphal West district of Manipur but it failed to explode, police said on Tuesday.
Police said the militants hurled the bomb at Imphal Hospital and Research Centre in Imphal on Monday night but it failed to explode.
Later, bomb experts from Imphal West district police station removed and defused it at a safe place, sources said.
The motive behind the crime was not known, police said adding that militants also placed a grenade in front of nearby private Babina Clinic.
A militant outfit had some days ago exploded a powerful grenade at Babina Clinic but no casualty was reported, police said adding the incident was connected with a monetary demand from the clinic by an outfit.
No individual or organisations has so far claimed responsibility for hurling bomb at the Imphal Hospital and Research Centre.
