Miss India UK set for Bollywood debut

Miss India UK Nikki Rana describes her film as an "East meets West" movie.

The young Indian who won the title of Miss India UK Nikki Rana and came second in the Miss India Worldwide contest in Mumbai is to enter Bollywood. She has been signed up for a film.

The Leicester University student, Rana, 20, keen on a Bollywood career is to start filming her first major film role in what she describes as an "East meets West" movie.

She has done a bit role in a Gurdas Mann film.

Not saying much about her new venture due to contract clauses, she said, "I should start filming within the next two months. I got the role through a family friend who knew one of the directors, and I did a casting for it.

"I will be filming for about four months, so once I start it will be non-stop. This is a platform for me to start on.'' Nikki will film in London, Scotland and Wales.

Miss India UK director Sam Samra said, "Everything is down to timing and she was there in the right place at the right time. She can be a big success if she makes the right decisions. If the movie she is in is a success, then the road is coated in gold."
