NCR gears up for Vindhyachal Navratri Mela

THE NORTH Central Railway has made special arrangements as per the instructions issued by General Manager Budh Prakash for the Vindhyachal Chaitra Navratri Mela from March 30 to April 13. Cleanliness work of the station and circulating area would be undertaken on contractual basis and special arrangement for electricity would also be made at the station and circulating area, informed BP Pandey, CPRO, NCR, in a press release on Saturday.

He said that during the mela period, Toofan Express, Purshottam Express, Magadh Express, Chambal Express, Shipra Express, Dadar-Guwahati Express, Sangh Mitra Express, Bhagalpur-Dadar Express, Mahabodhi Express and Howrah-Jodhpur Express trains would be given stoppages of two minutes at Vindhyachal station. He said that Rs 3 would be levied on general class ticket, Rs 5 for sleeper classes, Rs 7 for Ist class and AC2 tier and Rs 15 for AC first class tickets of passengers and Mail/Express trains.

In order to cater to the passengers’ needs efficiently, mela officers, inspectors and other employees and members of Bharat Scouts and Guides would be deployed round the clock during the mela period .

More TTEs, railway protection force and GRP personnel have been deployed to catch ticketless passengers and other miscreants and also to maintain law and order.
