After four years, the Gurgaon Industrial Association (GIA), on Saturday conducted election for the post of its office-bearers.

VP Bajaj was elected president, Pramil Jindal vice-president, Vipul Bedi general secretary, Subhash Gupta treasurer and Raj Kumar Garg was elected as joint secretary. All the office-bearers were elected unopposed. Besides six members of the managing committee were also chosen.
Bajaj has been holding the post since 2005. The election was not held after 2008. GIA said the election could not be conducted due to construction of new office building of the association in the Industrial Development Centre, Sector14.
The industry body was formed in 1966 with just eight members. At present, there are around 400 members of major companies like Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocorp, Honda, Siemens, Bajaj Motors, Munzal Showa, Omax Auto, Lubri Sales, other medium and small enterprises.
