Malik, an old India hand, succeeds Aziz Ahmad Khan who completed last month his successful three-year tenure during which the two countries resumed the composite dialogue and witnessed several significant developments.
"The new High Commissioner will arrive in New Delhi on Monday," Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner Afrasiab said on Saturday.
Prior to his posting in New Delhi, Malik was Pakistan's High Commissioner to Canada. He had earlier served in Delhi as Pakistan's Deputy High Commissioner between 1992 and 1995.
Malik will take over as the High Commissioner at a time when the relations between the two countries are critically poised. The two countries last month resumed the composite dialogue after a pause of four months caused by the July 11 Mumbai blasts.
