'No information on Musharraf's visit to Kochi'

BCCI's SK Nair on Monday said it had received no information regarding Prez Musharraf's visit to Kochi to witness the on April 2.

The Cricket Board on Monday said it had received no information regarding Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's visit to Kochi to witness the one-dayer between India and Pakistan on April 2.

Asked about reports in the local media that the Pakistan President was likely to visit Kochi to witness the one-dayer, BCCI Secretary SK Nair told reporters that the Board had "received no information so far on the Pakistan President's visit to Kochi. We would be only too happy to welcome him at Kochi or any other venue," he added.

"It is the Prime Minister's office which has to take a decision in this regard," he said.

Speculations were rife in the local media about the Pakistan President's visit to Kochi to witness the first match of the one-day series.

A Central intelligence official on Monday visited the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, the venue of the match, he said.

Asked about the security arrangements being made, Nair said security arrangement is a matter to be considered by the state administration.
