No new Bill, lawyers urge PM
AN EMERGENCY meeting of pro-Congress lawyers urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to introduce any Bill in Parliament on the insistence of leaders of Opposition as they had lost their credibility and political morality after Sonia Gandhi resigned from her post.
AN EMERGENCY meeting of pro-Congress lawyers urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to introduce any Bill in Parliament on the insistence of leaders of Opposition as they had lost their credibility and political morality after Sonia Gandhi resigned from her post.
The resolution passed in the meeting further said that the Opposition leaders should face the outcome of their acts and they too should resign from the post of profit, if they are at all holding it. The meeting held under the presidentship of HN Mehrotra, former vice-president of High Court Bar Association, also said that in case any Bill is introduced in the Parliament, the lawyers throughout the country will oppose the same tooth and nail. Those who participated in the meeting included SK Vidyarthi, DN Yadav, Vijay Chandra Srivastava, Kandarp Narain Mishra, Sharad Chandra Mishra, Sunita Sharma and others.
Holi Milan : A Holi Milan along with cultural programmes and Ganga Yamuni Kavi Sammelan, will be organised under the aegis of Board of Revenue Bar Association here on Tuesday, at 6 pm on the Board of Revenue premises.
The chief guest of this programme will be in charge of Board of Revenue and judicial member Anil Swaroop.
The programme will be presided over by SN Pandey, IAS, who is also a litterateur and poet.
Giving this information, the secretary of Board of Revenue Bar Association Bal Krishna Pandey said that other special guests on this occasion will be Anil Kumar, Ram Janam Singh and all Judicial Members of Board. President of Board of Revenue Bar Association Harsh Narain Sharma has requested all the lawyers to attend this programme in large number.
