Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday rejected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's allegation that the ruling National Conference-Congress combine in the state is trying to reduce his and the BJP's impact in the state.
Speaking ahead of Modi's rally in Jammu, Omar Abdullah responding to allegations of installing his hoarding at the site of Modi's rally said, Have you ever seen a person who places a hoarding by mistake? We have deliberately installed the hoarding. The government is mine and I will place my only hoarding there only. Why get irritated? There are hundreds of Modi's hoardings placed there. Am I crying? If I had placed my hoarding before Secretariat in Gujarat, then I can say it is wrong?
Everybody is accustomed with the politics played by the BJP. We all know their stand on different issues. We still remember their attempts to ignite Jammu after the Kishtwar riots. It is possible that he might talk bitterly here, but I don't think he is going to say something new, which we have not yet heard of. People of Jammu and Kashmir are capable enough to fight these rude talks, he added.
Where is question of not allowing the rally? He can come here. They have a state unit here. He wants to address 500 people. Who is stopping him? He can come here to do a political activity. We only stopped them, when they wanted the situation prevailing in Kashmir to get worse. For political activity, there is no stoppage. But I cannot comment, if he will make the situation worse or not? Abdullah said in response to the issue of giving permission for Modi's rally in Jammu.
