A team of scholars of the criminology and criminal justice department at Lucknow University has learnt this from forensic experts.
Led by researcher Mridul Srivastava, who heads the department's Collective Action Group, the team has just returned from a tour of the country's top investigation agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the National Crime Records Bureau and the National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences.
"We were told by forensic experts at these agencies that terrorists had found a novel way to exchange communication - by penning their letters in urine, which works as invisible ink," Srivastava said.
He said, "Text written with urine cannot be read with the naked eye, but it can be seen under an infra-red lamp or ultra-violet rays".
