One policeman was killed on Tuesday and five others injured in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh, police said.

One constable, Nand Kishore Sori was killed in the attack and five others - constables Dau Ram Bhaskar, Mehru Netam, Mahesh Mandavi, Firoze Khan and special police officer Mohan were seriously injured, Deo said.

Garg is safe and his vehicle has not been damaged in the attack, Deo said.
The injured were taken to a hospital in Bijapur, police said adding they were later airlifted to Jagdalpur, headquarters of Bastar district.
Security in Naxal-infested regions in the state, which goes to polls on April 16, has been stepped up.
Naxals have declared a boycott against elections.
