Officials at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi said they had received a letter from President Pervez Musharraf's office ordering a two-month stay of execution for Mirza Tahir Hussain.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair had urged military ruler Musharraf to halt the hanging of 36-year-old Hussain, who has spent nearly half his life in a Pakistani jail for the murder of a taxi driver.
