Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on Sunday took on politics parties that are in an alliance in the state, saying that there were some parties which try to have an alliance for their own benefit and not for the people.
Addressing Conress' 'Shakti Rally' at Gohana in Sonepat district, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) had forged an alliance in the run-up to the assembly elections. “However, BJP's Haryana unit is undecided over the issue of having a political alliance,” he said.
He said the only political alliance possible in the state was the one between the Congress and the people.
Taking a dig at the BJP, he said the party had first joined hands with Devi Lal and later on shook hands with Bansi Lal, but none of the alliances worked out. On Indian National Lok Dal's (INLD) recent rally in Kurukshetra, Hooda, referring to water-sharing disputes between Punjab and Haryana, said the INLD had invited Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal for the rally even though it was Badal who had denied Haryana its due share of water.
