If you thought that only people have accents, then think again, for a new study in the UK has found that man's best friend is right beside him when it comes to having an accent.
As a part of the study, commissioned by Disney to mark the DVD release of the hit animated movie Lady and the Tramp, owners were asked to phone and leave recorded messages of their voice as well as those of their pets barking and growling.
They found that dogs from different parts of the country have differences in tone and pitch.
Tracey Gudgeon, of the Canine Behaviour Centre in Cumbria, said that having an accent seemed to be one way that dogs bond with their owners, and that pet pooches were able to imitate stronger accents more easily than softer ones.
"It's one of the ways they bond with their owner. It seems dogs are more able to imitate stronger, more distinctive accents than softer ones," Fox News quoted her, as telling the Mirror.
